Chelsea Series #7
This is the first of the series where the wood did not come from the Chelsea House/Muttontown Preserve. And it’s Mulberry, not Black Cherry like the similar work in the series. Mulberry starts off as a sickly sort of yellow before aging into a slightly purplish deep red. It’s almost offensive to work with the wood raw, but left in the sun it quickly develops a beautiful patina. One of my favorites.
